First Sarah MacLean book。 A few bulleted thoughts:-Loved the concept of Callie having a list。 -good evolution showing Callie from spinster to confident woman-Ralston was a great hero -loved the banter between Callie and Ralston -I believe this is only a three book series but would love for Callie’s brother， Benedict to have his own story

⚠️Alerta Spoilers⚠️Mi suspensión de incredulidad no ha podido resistir este libro。 Todo era muy absurdo y sin sentido。 Tan lejos de lo que pasaría en ese período que me ha hecho poner los ojos en blanco mil veces。Ella pobrecita， que es fea y gorda， ¡tragedia！， siendo una noble adinerada no ha encontrado el marido guapo que ella buscaba y ahora es una solterona。 Se compadece de sí misma， sueña con aventuras y eso le lleva （porque es inevitablemente lógico） a hacer una lista de cosas escandalosas ⚠️Alerta Spoilers⚠️Mi suspensión de incredulidad no ha podido resistir este libro。 Todo era muy absurdo y sin sentido。 Tan lejos de lo que pasaría en ese período que me ha hecho poner los ojos en blanco mil veces。Ella pobrecita， que es fea y gorda， ¡tragedia！， siendo una noble adinerada no ha encontrado el marido guapo que ella buscaba y ahora es una solterona。 Se compadece de sí misma， sueña con aventuras y eso le lleva （porque es inevitablemente lógico） a hacer una lista de cosas escandalosas para hacer y， ya que está， para suicidarse socialmente （y de paso físicamente si tal）， como salir a medianoche a un garito a ver si la violan por ejemplo。 Y la criada sabiéndolo ¿qué hace？ la regaña un poco pero va， que al final la ayuda。 Ok。No podía pensar en querer viajar para salir de su entorno， buscar una afición， implicarse en algún objetivo。 No。 Ella quiere asistir a un duelo， fumar， beber y en definitiva ser la versión de paria social que es pero en versión masculina。 Qué profundidad de personaje， qué madurez， no me extraña que el marqués haya sucumbido a sus pies。Por cierto que cansa que un personaje sobre todo en mujeres （el cliché de siempre） no puedan ser normalitas。 Al final siempre se dejará claro que es hermosa de alguna forma distinta al canon de su época。 Pero que es mona ¿eh？Y bueno， él es lo de siempre， un putero malhumorado con alma atormentada。 Nada nuevo。Pero vamos lo que destaca es que es tan ridículo todo que he pasado leyéndolo diciendo "¡pero cómo va a hacer/pasar eso！， ¡anda ya！" Y eso que he leído chorradas。。。 tiene su mérito。 。。。more

A solid 3 star read。 This was slow for me to get into， and it never fully took off for me。 I didn’t feel much spark between Callie and Gabriel。 I did appreciate how Gabriel’s mistress was handled。 Overall， it was ok， I just didn’t love it as much as I expected to。

DNF at 61%I felt my heart blooming at the beginning of the book。 Sounds good。 Callie was taking charge of her passive， hopeless， spinster life。 Yeah， you go girlie！And then she went to the rake's place。 Gawd， the second-hand embarrassment was real but this was the first of a long series of unfortunate semi-porno events featuring the main characters。Things that I didn't get:1） What was the logical reason for carrying the to-do list everywhere she went？2） Callie meeting Gabriel unceremoniously at DNF at 61%I felt my heart blooming at the beginning of the book。 Sounds good。 Callie was taking charge of her passive， hopeless， spinster life。 Yeah， you go girlie！And then she went to the rake's place。 Gawd， the second-hand embarrassment was real but this was the first of a long series of unfortunate semi-porno events featuring the main characters。Things that I didn't get:1） What was the logical reason for carrying the to-do list everywhere she went？2） Callie meeting Gabriel unceremoniously at the fencing club was quite a stretch but both of them making out in the unlocked training room at peak hours was just。。。too much。3） I get it they're attracted to each other but both of them were as boring as dirt。 I didn't care enough to continue。 They do have some pretty witty banters but Callie was always on the verge of having her brain turned into mush or having a touch-my-vag field day every time she met the handsome rake so。。。I guess this was the entire arc for both of them？I was glad to not read one more page of this book。 Phew。 。。。more

A really good bookThis is a really good read。 I did not check in the beginning how long it was， and was pleasantly surprised at its length， even if it kept me up to the wee hours of the morning。 It gives you good chance to get to know the characters and watch them grow。

This book is lovely！ Well it is given already but I am never getting tired of this trope which involves rakes！I am a sucker of character development， I never regret opening this book the moment I craved for romance。 My heart is totally swooned by the Marquess of Ralston 🤭 I cannot blame Callie for spending a decade loving him。While my feet are being swept by the marquess， I do take note how Callie empowers not only herself but the entire women of the society。 I am so proud of her as she ticks of This book is lovely！ Well it is given already but I am never getting tired of this trope which involves rakes！I am a sucker of character development， I never regret opening this book the moment I craved for romance。 My heart is totally swooned by the Marquess of Ralston 🤭 I cannot blame Callie for spending a decade loving him。While my feet are being swept by the marquess， I do take note how Callie empowers not only herself but the entire women of the society。 I am so proud of her as she ticks off each adventure and grows into a strong independent woman！I enjoy the moments with her sister as well as with Julianna but definitely nothing can surmount those of Callie and Ralston。I believe at this point， this shall not be my last book from this author。 ❤️ 。。。more
